Our Do the Work! Youth Forum on Allyship explores social justice topics as well as develops allyship and advocacy skills among youth. We are opening the webinar sessions to the public to watch in real-time. We want as many youth, parents, and teachers to have access to these sessions presented by our amazing program partners. Islamophobia
Let’s break barriers and build bridges together. It’s important to educate ourselves to think critically, have empathy, reflect on and see bias, and advocate for peace and justice. You will leave this interactive webinar with awareness about Islam and Muslims, Islamophobia and that there is more that unites us than divides us as Canadians.

Environmental Racism
Presented by Shake up the Establishment
This webinar will explore the concept of environmental racism through the examination of specific incidents in Canadian history that relate to three broad categories of environmental racism. The categories are: urban planning in historical minority communities, racialization of communities and the expressions of “multiculturalism” in Canada’s urban centers and corresponding inequities of services, and conflict over land-claims, treaty rights and sovereignty issues concerning First Nations.
Mental Health

This webinar will focus on self-care and peer support, including opportunities for youth to address any issues that may arise as they process difficult issues as part of the program. Topics will include stigma, anxiety, depression, addiction, and health equity
Disability Justice
Presented by Creating Accessible Neighbourhoods
This webinar will discuss the origins and principals of Disability Justice, and provide ways youth can be better allies including Disability Justice Application with Personal Examples
Social Media Impacts
Presented by Never Was Average
This webinar intends to generate ideas on how to use social media for social justice. Facilitated by Prize-winning artist Niti Mueth, you will learn how to use social media to develop self-expression and advocacy.
LGBTQ2+
Presented by Wisdom2Action
This webinar will provide an introduction to 2SLGBTQ+ identities, rights and inclusion, with a focus on building skills and knowledge to meaningfully include 2SLGBTQ+ people.
Reconciliation
Presented by Assembly of Seven Generations (A7G)
This webinar will explore concepts of reconciliation through cultural revitalization and resurgence. Participants will reflect on meaningful and tangible ways we can all further Reconciliation in our own communities and beyond.

Youth Leaders
Our allyship Youth Leaders act as hosts, mentors, chaperones and workshop facilitators for the duration of the program. Youth Leaders assist in the planning and preparation of the webinars, advising and participating in the creation of the online workshops and supplementary tools and resources, and leading podcast production teams. Youth leaders play an important role in facilitating various program activities and mentoring youth through their final podcast or webinar presentation.
