Youth Leaders - Reconciliation Virtual Forum
Looking for an opportunity to work with motivated and passionate young Canadians? Hoping to build experience in event management, working with youth, or expand your network? Become a Youth Leader and put yourself at the forefront of this amazing youth-led educational program!
Experiences Canada is seeking 14 Canadians, aged 21-30, to lead the adventure of a lifetime. As a Youth Leader, you will mentor youth participants (ages 14-18) from across Canada as they virtually discuss Reconciliation and how they can work together to implement projects within their own communities. Building off the successful Online Conversations Series on Reconciliation, where Indigenous established and emerging leaders participated in webinars over 6 weeks on different themes within reconciliation, youth will work together to create action-oriented plans personalized to their local communities.
Be part of a close-knit team who oversee the youth participants learning journey online, supporting them to brainstorm, clarify problems and identify solutions which will culminate in a mock presentation pitch in front of peers, granting experts and other stakeholders. Your role will also include helping plan and organize the week’s activities, supporting the participants as they prepare for the Forum, monitoring the private slack channel for participants the month prior to the forum, updating and reviewing resources on Reconciliation for usage pre-forum and during, and facilitating a life-changing experience that will impact hundreds of young Canadians.
This is a unique opportunity for you to gain valuable experience in youth education, event management, communications, team building and online group facilitation.
