CURRENT PROGRAMS OVERVIEW
Do the Work! Youth Forum on Allyship
Do the Work! Youth Forum on Allyship (open to youth aged 14-18) will explore social justice topics as well as develop
allyship and advocacy skills. We have partnered with seven amazing organizations to deliver seven bi-weekly webinars
and workshops on topics such as Reconciliation; Mental Health; LGBTQ2+; Environmental Racism; Disability Justice,
Islamophobia, and Social Media Impacts.
Youth who complete the full webinar series will be invited to travel to Winnipeg to attend a 3-day in-person National
Forum on Allyship from May 6-8, 2022. Here they will have the opportunity to apply their training, to share their ideas
and strategies for community action and youth engagement, and to work collaboratively to produce their own podcast on
youth allyship and/or advocacy.
Age range: 14 to 18 years
Key Dates: Applications close January 16th 2022. Webinar series starts: Februrary 1st 2022. In-Person Forum: May 6-8 2022
Career Choices
Our new virtual Career choices program aims to create online resources to support youth in planning for post-secondary – whether that is continuing in school, or venturing out to the workplace. The goal of this program is to help high school students navigate the many possibilities that are available to them after high school, help them sort through online resources, and to build youth’s awareness and confidence in the skills that they already possess.
Age range: 15-18 years
Key Dates: Monthly webinars start October 5th.
Virtual Choir
The This! Is Canada – Virtual Choir is made up of youth between the ages of 11-17 from across the country. Participants gather weekly for rehearsals with professional voice coaches to rehearse, record, and create videos for Canadian songs. Our winter session will run from February 1 to March 8. No experience necessary – all voices welcome!
Age range: 11-17 years
Key Dates: Applications for our Winter session close January 30, Session starts February 1.
Virtual Exchange
Introduced as a response to the pandemic, our virtual exchange programs offers youth the opportunity to learn more about their community and another community in Canada from the comfort and safety of their own home. Offered to groups and individual youth, once participants have completed four modules, they are pre approved for in person travel once it is safe to do so. All completed project are uploaded to our This! Is Canada – Virtual Map of Canada.
Age range: 12 to 17 years

In-Person Exchanges
Experiences Canada offers youth exchanges for participants aged 12 to 17 years old, between groups of 10 to 30 young people. Our reciprocal exchanges offer life-changing experiences: enabling young Canadians to build personal skills and self-confidence; form new friendships; deepen their knowledge of a second language, of other histories and cultures, and inspire them to become more actively engaged in their communities. We are now accepting applications for in person exchanges for 2022.
Age range: 12 to 17 years
Key Dates: Application now open for travel in 2022 (pending public health guidelines)
