All Experiences Canada’s programs are designed to offer transformational learning opportunities that are accessible to youth across Canada – creating fun, safe, memorable experiences that deepen their connection to their community and their country, enrich personal relationships and build confidence and skills.

CURRENT PROGRAMS OVERVIEW

Youth Leadership Forum on Reconciliation

Our Youth Leadership Forum on Reconciliation will bring together Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth (aged 14-25) from across the country to develop Reconciliation projects to undertake in their own communities. Participants will receive a grant of up to $2500 depending on the scale and scope of their project, thanks to our new Canada Life Reconciliation in Action Micro-Grants.

Age range: 14-25 years

Key Dates: Forum runs October 13-17. Application close October 3.

Virtual Choir

The This! Is Canada – Virtual Choir is made up of youth between the ages of 11-17 from across the country. Participants gather weekly for rehearsals with professional voice coaches to rehearse record and create videos for Canadian songs. To accommodate the holiday season we’ll be running 2 x 6 week sessions running from Oct 12 to Nov 16, and Feb 1 to March 8. Youth are invited to sign up to one or both sessions!

Age range: 11-17 years

Key Dates: Applications for our fall session close October 3, session starts October 12.

Career Choices

Our new virtual Career choices program aims to create free online resources to support youth in planning for post-secondary – whether that is continuing in school, or venturing out to the workplace. The goal of this program is to help high school students navigate the many possibilities that are available to them after high school, help them sort through online resources, and to build youth’s awareness and confidence in the skills that they already possess.

Age range: 15-18 years

Key Dates: Monthly webinars start October 5th.

Virtual Exchange

Introduced as a response to the pandemic, our virtual exchange programs offers youth the opportunity to learn more about their community and another community in Canada from the comfort and safety of their own home. Offered to groups and individual youth, once participants have completed four modules, they are pre approved for in person travel once it is safe to do so. All completed project are uploaded to our This! Is Canada – Virtual Map of Canada.

Age range: 12 to 17 years

In-Person Exchanges

Experiences Canada offers youth exchanges for participants aged 12 to 17 years old, between groups of 10 to 30 young people. Our reciprocal exchanges offer life-changing experiences: enabling young Canadians to build personal skills and self-confidence; form new friendships; deepen their knowledge of a second language, of other histories and cultures, and inspire them to become more actively engaged in their communities. We are now accepting applications for in person exchanges for 2022.

Age range: 12 to 17 years

Allyship - STARTS JANUARY 2022

Do the Work! Youth Forum on Allyship will explore topics in social justice as well as develop allyship and advocacy competencies among youth. This Winter Experiences Canada will deliver a series of six bi-weekly webinars and supporting online education program for 60 youth ages 14-18, as well as one group of 8-10 youth ages 19-25. Selected topics for this first-year’s program will include: Reconciliation; Cultural Racism; Mental Health; LGBTQ2+; Environmental Racism; Disability Justice, and Social Media Impacts.

The program will culminate with a 3-day National Forum on Allyship (anticipated to be in person in Winnipeg in Spring, 2022) where youth participants will have the opportunity to apply their training, to share their ideas and strategies for community action and youth engagement and to work collaboratively to produce their own webinar/podcast on youth allyship. The older cohort of youth will become youth leaders for the Forum facilitating activities and mentoring youth through their presentations.

Formulaire de demande – Chorale virtuelle:

Remarque : Les frais de participation sont de 50 $ pour une séance de six semaines ou de 75 $ pour s’inscrire aux deux séances. Cela comprend les répétitions, toute la musique et tout le matériel requis, ainsi que la participation facultative au programme d’échange virtuel. Ces frais seront exigibles une fois qu’ils auront été acceptés dans le programme.

Expériences Canada s’engage à assurer un accès complet à son programme, peu importe la géographie, les capacités ou les circonstances économiques. Les demandes de financement de mesures spéciales limitées sont examinées au cas par cas.
